Two new signings bolster Trawlerboys squad

Lowestoft Town manager Jamie Godbold has moved to bolster his squad following recent injuries.

After Flynn Clarke suffered a season-ending injury a few weeks ago, goalkeeper Luke Holt was also stretchered off at the weekend after suffering a leg injury.

So Godbold, Jordan Southgate and Blues officials have moved swiftly to add two new loan additions to the squad.

A club spokesman said: "We’re thrilled to welcome two new faces to the squad!"

Goalkeeper Danny Cullum is joining us on loan from Needham Market on a dual registration deal "for the next few games."

Cullum had signed for Needham Academy a few months ago following his release from Ipswich Town - where he had most recently played for their U21s, having been with Ipswich from the age of eight until his release at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Trawlerboys have also signed attacking midfielder Fin Whiteley on loan from King's Lynn Town.

The teenager had impressed on trial and during pre season training with The Linnets, signing for them in July, having previously started out at Norwich City’s academy and playing at Fakenham.

Welcoming the two new loan additions, the club spokesman said they "add strength and quality to the team."

The Trawlerboys return to Southern League Premier Central Division action tonight (kick off 7.45pm) as Lowestoft host 12th placed Bishop's Stortford at the Foster's Solicitors Community Stadium.
