'GET BEHIND US!' Rallying call to 'Back The Blues'

Advance tickets available online ahead of 'huge' home Emirates FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie versus Weston-super-Mare AFC

"If we have 1,000 fans cheering us on Saturday, supporting us, getting behind the lads and cheering us on like they did Tuesday then it really does make a tremendous difference as it lifts the lads."
- Blues boss Jamie Godbold

All roads lead to Crown Meadow this Saturday as Lowestoft Town FC prepare for a massive Emirates FA Cup encounter.

After reaching the FA Cup fourth qualifying round for the first time in 12 years, The Trawlerboys are set to host Vanarama National League South side Weston-super-Mare AFC at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium this Saturday, October 12.

With Lowestoft now just one game away from securing a place in the first round proper of the prestigious national competition - where they last played almost 15 years ago away at Wrexham in November 2009, losing 1-0 - it is hoped hundreds of fans will turn out to cheer Jamie Godbold's men to glory this weekend.

Back in 2009, Lowestoft caused a shock at this stage of the competition as they beat Gloucester City - who played two leagues above them - to secure a place in the first round proper for the first time in 32 years.

And Blues boss Godbold - who played for Lowestoft in those games during the memorable 2009 FA Cup run - is hoping for similar fortunes on Saturday....as he calls on the town to rally behind The Trawlerboys.

Lowestoft are the second highest goalscorers still remaining in the competition, having hit 17 goals in their three previous rounds, from four games.

And winger Harvey Sayer is currently the second top goalscorer still playing in the prestigious national competition, with eight goals from four games - two behind Gary Lockyer, who has hit 10 for Ashford United.

After a 6-2 win over Potters Bar Town and a 5-2 home win over Newmarket Town, Lowestoft drew 3-3 away at Haringey Borough before winning 3-1 at home last Tuesday in the replay - with Sayer hitting a first half hat trick.

It meant Sayer has already hit two hat tricks in this season's competition, firing in eight goals in the process.

The Seagulls, second in the National League South, feature former Plymouth and West Brom striker Reuben Reid.

Bouncing back in midweek after a "disappointing" 2-3 FA Trophy defeat at home to Royston last Saturday, Godbold said: "Saturday is a huge game.

"It will be very tough - they are on fire in their league and are a really big, strong and athletic outfit.

"But also its the magic of the FA Cup - anything can happen - we need to be at our best, but if we have 1,000 fans cheering us on Saturday, supporting us, getting behind the lads and cheering us on like they did Tuesday then it really does make a tremendous difference as it lifts the lads."

With Lowestoft battling for a place in the first round proper, gates on Saturday's matchday will open earlier at 1PM.

Please note that season tickets are NOT valid for cup matches, and all tickets are sold at full matchday prices.

Buy your tickets online before 11.30 am this Saturday (matchday) to avoid queues on the day.
