On signing for the club, McKendry said "I'm just delighted to come in here and have an opportunity to get some regular first team football. I spoke to Jamie and Scott Mitchell who was here before and they both spoke highly of Lowestoft, and so with Travis here who I already know I decided that this would be a good move for me".
When asked about what he might bring to the Trawlerboys on the pitch McKendry said "I'm someone that's good on the ball. I like playing people through and getting assists. I always watch Messi and I love the way he plays so he's someone that I really model my game around".
McKendry added, "I just can't wait to get started now and rack up some minutes along with hopefully chipping in with a few goals and assists".
On signing McKendry, manager Jamie Godbold said, "I'm really pleased to sign Conor. We played against him when I was manager of Sudbury and I thought he was a great talent so I think this is a real great coup for us. Now having heard his signing interview where he compared himself to Messi we think we've absolutely gone and got a bargain here so thanks very much to Ipswich for the loan and we look forward to seeing this fantastic new addition to our squad".
Did you know? Conor McKendry once scored in the U17s European Championships for Northern Ireland.
While McKendry comes in, the club regret to confirm that Reiss Awuah has parted ways with Lowestoft Town.
Assistant manager Andy Reynolds said, "Reiss has failed to show the levels of commitment that we feel he needs to do to get himself fit and at the level required to help us compete this year. Whilst he is a nice lad, we felt we had done what we could to keep the door open for him but he hasn't shown us or the team that he is willing to walk through it. We wish him all the best with whatever is next".
